Govt & TP: Boosting Youth Engagement Internationally
TP, a worldwide pioneer in digital outsourcing services, partnered with the government to launch its third operational hub in Ghana. This initiative has provided jobs for more than 500 young Ghanaians in Accra, with plans to expand employment opportunities further down the line.
Renowned globally for its outstanding performance in customer care, content management, and online assistance services, the TP program is led by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation.
Thomas Mackenbrock, the Deputy CEO of TP Ghana, mentioned that the firm, operational across 95 nations and boasting a workforce of around 500,000 employees, plans to involve more than 5,000 young professionals from all over the country.
He mentioned that Ghana’s activities were crucial for their expansion plan within Africa, highlighting how the firm has quickly grown from an initial workforce of 36 when it started in January 2022 to more than 1,300 employees spread across two operational sites.
As per Mackenbrock, the collaboration aligned seamlessly with Ghana’s initiatives aimed at reducing unemployment and highlighted TP’s commitment to fostering a supportive commercial atmosphere within the nation.
Elhadi Bencherif, who leads TP Ghana, stated, "We have accomplished three years of hard work alongside TP, Change, and Brand. This journey has been with the guidance of leaders such as Thomas, Augusto, and all others involved. It’s remarkable how an initial small-scale initiative in Ghana is now embraced not only by our internal management and leadership but also recognized by local authorities. With this support, we believe nothing will hinder our progress, and reaching 10,000 is merely a figure."
Simon Madjie, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), addressed the audience on behalf of the Minister of Communications, expressing his appreciation for the progress made. He characterized this advancement as a significant move toward realizing the government’s vision of a 24-hour economy.
Dzifa Gunu, CEO of Ghana Digital Centres Limited, pointed out that this public-private collaboration is designed to meet the government's overarching objective of generating lasting job prospects for the country's young people.
Daniel Julien, who founded and serves as the Group CEO of TP Global, also attended the event.
