Nintendo Halts Highly Anticipated Gadget Launch Due to Trump Tariffs

Gamers will have to wait a bit longer for one of the most anticipated consoles of 2025.

Nintendo has temporarily halted preorders for the Switch 2 in the U.S. as it tries to adapt to President Donald Trump's tariffs.

The company previously announced it would launch the pre-orders on April 9.

Nintendo stated that pre-orders for theSwitch 2 in the U.S. won't begin on April 9, 2025. The company aims to evaluate the possible effects of tariffs and changing market dynamics before proceeding. The Verge .

Nintendo will provide an updated timeline at a future date. However, the release date remains set for June 5, 2025.
